The village of Bosbury lies near to the border of Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
The church and its famous bell tower were constructed in the twelfth century.
Cricket began to be played in the village soon afterwards. :-)
A map of where the pitch is in Bosbury can be found by clicking on this link.
The club plays its cricket on the Bosbury School sports ground, on a natural grass pitch, and has played on the site since before the Second World War. A Ladies vs Gentleman game took place in Bosbury in 1909. The club ceased to exist for a period after the school was built in 1969, but was reformed in 1981 thanks largely to Ron Franklin.
In 2004, Bosbury Cricket Club won promotion by winning the newly formed Marches League Division 5a. In 2005, Bosbury were Division 4 champions. Due to re-structuring of the league, and due to lack of facilities, Bosbury missed out on promotion and continued to play in Division 4 of the Marches League in 2006. Bosbury won the Division 4 title in 2006, narrowly beating Strollers into top spot. Refurbishment of the pavilion to include shower facilities allowed the club to gain promotion and compete in Marches League Division 3 in 2007, and the club achieved runner-up spot and gained promotion to Division 2 for 2008. A mixed season saw the club achieve fourth spot in Division 2 in 2008, but the club performed excellently in 2009 and managed to secure the Runners-Up position and move up into Division 1 in 2010.
The club has hosted two successful 6-a-side tournaments in 2008 and 2009.
The club has a long affiliation with The Bell Inn public house, in Bosbury, where a warm welcome is always guaranteed!
The Bell Inn has a website, which is well worth a look.
